After purchasing fresh strawberries from the local farmers market, I decided to infuse the strawberries with bourbon.
I’m looking forward to using this bourbon in a Mint Julep, Sour and Manhattan.
As a second experiment, I’m also infusing strawberries with reposado tequila.
Ingredients
Bourbon
1 pint of strawberries
16 oz Mason jar
Instructions
Wash and dry 1 pint of fresh ripe strawberries.
Hull and slice 2 cups of strawberries and place them in a 16 oz Mason jar. There should enough strawberries to fill the jar about 3/4 full.
Fill the jar with bourbon, seal and steep for 1 week. Shake the jar every few days to help infuse the flavors.
